Early Canvas Art
A compilation of paintings created on a canvas.
Mediums: Canvas board, acrilic paint, metallic sharpie.
Drawn in my senior year of highschool, reworked and painted. Represents the idea of a "Mother Time" figure combined with the idea of mother nature.
Mediums: Handmade canvas, fake oversized money, metalic paint
This would be the largest canvas I have ever worked with. It is approx. 3 feet long. This is also the only canvas I have ever created. I used freshly cut wood, canvas paper, staples, and gesso to create it. The woman figure is based on Pam "Foxy Brown" Grier. I cut each dollar with an exacto knife to make her stand out. This image represents the weight that women place on money (through the weight of the gold). Inspired by the song "Bag Lady" by Erykah Badu.
Mediums: Watercolors, watercolor paper, pencil, and Sharpie
My first successful watercolor experiment! Represents the many personalities of black women. The necklace that she wears alludes to african culture. The "tentacles" are an extension of herself. Much like the mythological Medusa.

Mediums: Canvas board, acrylic paint, tempra, and paper
Early highschool project. Inspired by Andy Warhol. Ketchup bottle was drawn on paper and colored in with tempra. The canvas board was prepared with a hand drawn checkerboard pattern (colored with acrylic).
Mediums: Sketch paper, canvas, acrylic, tempra, highlighter, pencil, marker, and glitter pen.
With this image I was trying to create a 3rd dimensional effect with the color use. Highlighter was used to make the tempra colors (on the paper section) more vibrant. I used a black background for the same reason. It was meant to show resemblance to an acid trip when 3D glasses are used.
Mediums: Canvas board, permanent marker, tempra (the red paint) and a cyan highlighter.
This is a mini series called 3rd world dimensions. I was really trying to master 3D artwork. Put on a pair of 3D glasses and you will find that they do work.
Mediums: Small canvas, acrylic, metallic Sharpie paint pen
Something I really wanted to work with. This is fauvism inspired pop art as the colors represent moods rather than reality. The minimalism of the painting makes it pop art-y Represents the worries of women. The respirator shows the reality of her clouded brain.
